About Us

Our History

1996 was Hungary's millecentenarium. Our ancestors settled in the Carpathian Basin eleven hundred years ago. This was an important milestone in the history of the Hungarian people. Hungarians, both at home and abroad were planning to celebrate this event. In 1996 the Hungarian Arts & Heritage Foundation of Alberta was established. HAHFA sponsored millecentenary events such as concerts, art displays, films and the Millecentenary Gala Ball. Over the years HAHFA has sponsored and funded a number of memorable events.
